What fluid are you pumping?

  • Traditional motor oils (including synthetics): most piston and diaphragm pumps work.

  • Multi-vis oils: use 3:1 or 5:1 piston pumps; higher ratios for high-volume or multiple dispense points.

  • Gear oil: use a 5:1 pump (more viscous).

  • Antifreeze: usually AODD (air-operated double-diaphragm) pumps in aluminum or poly; these are essentially 1:1 and give low outlet pressure — other options for long runs.

  • Windshield wash (methanol): use poly or stainless pumps.

  • Grease (NLGI 2): pump choice depends on distance, volume, and dispense points.

Site details we need

  • Distance to the farthest dispense point?

  • Number of dispense points? Will you use hose reels and what length?

  • Types of vehicles serviced? (Passenger cars usually need ~1–1.5 GPM; trucks/large equipment may need 4–5 GPM or more.)

  • Typical dispense volumes (e.g., car 4–8 quarts; large equipment much larger).

  • Tank or drum sizes required?

  • Need fluid management? If yes, how many fluids and how many total dispense points?

Notes

  • Tubing size is set by required flow (GPM) and distance to the farthest point. If you’re not experienced with piping, consult an installer — we can help.
